If You Think You’ve Been Scammed
- Call your bank or card issuer’s fraud team right now. Minutes matter.
- Change any shared passwords.
- Report to the FTC at reportfraud.ftc.gov.
- If it involved investment firms, also file at the SEC: sec.gov/tcr.
- If it involved crypto, add a report at the FBI’s IC3.
- Do not respond to anyone who offers “recovery services” for a fee — those are almost always the second scam.
